Candy Pics

I was messing with chocolate again yesterday, making truffles and a decorated chocolate plate. I went with a run raisin truffle rolled in walnuts and a Caberbet Savignon rolled in cocoa powder with a small measure of ground rosemary mixed in. They are both decent but not my best. Flavors aren't strong enough. I'll try the Cabernet again at some point. Anyway, here are some pictures of the plate and a couple from the Easter Egg I did back at, well, Easter, duh.

Everything on the plate is chocolate and edible. Same with the egg and surrounding business.

Is It Hot, or Is it Just Me?

Soooo we have concluded Day 3 of no AC. At this rate, we will acclimate and the AC when fixed will make us too damn cold. That would be funny. But not really.

We went over to my parents to try and recall what cool air felt like. Also went swimming. OMG, Little is a natural in the water. Loved it, went psycho with it. That girl is an otter I'm telling you. Wanted nothing to do with the steps, was all about getting out in the deep water. She was even kicking her legs!! Kept dunking her face in. It was absolutely incredible. She even fell off the steps and sank to the bottom and when picked up, merely looked around, thinking about what she saw down there or something. Otter I tell you.

I need to turn the TV so I can watch it from the wading pool outside.

It's Like Africa Hot

So, in keeping with the great tradition of being a close personal friend of Murphys Law, our AC is out. And of course the temperatures have been hitting mid 90s now. So we sat in an 87 degree apartment yesterday evening but it is a balmy 84 inside here today. Freaking repair people never showed up, so another looooong night.

I'm sure I'm a big dork but I bust out with the frozen green beans every now and again and molest them in some cooling manner or another. Had a refreshing beverage with dinner which was ordered in, because honestly, who wants to turn on a stove/oven in this situation?

After Idol I think I am going skinny dipping in the wading pool.

With my green beans.

I'm Calm...I'm Cool...

Okay, I usually don't about TV stuff because 1). There are only like 3 people that come here, and B. I dunno if anyone watches what I do. However, my fave TV shows are conspiring to set me on some lunatic breakdown binge.

Gilmour Girls and Lorelai going off all nutcase looney tunes and then doing the dumbest fucking thing ever. Jeebus I swear I don't know if I can keep watching.

Then last night with American Idol and Chris getting the boot?! Oh I lost it, yelling about it all being rigged and shit. Seriously. katherine shoulda gotten the boot hook off the stage this time. She forgot the lyrics for christ sake!! Amazing what a set of tits can do.

I swear to gawd, if osmething goes wrong on Survivor tonight and Terry manages to screw himself out of a guaranteed spot in the final 3 I will categorically lose it. I'll be screaming down the streets setting shit on fire or something.

Gah!

In other news, Little took her first steps. :)

Everest, Ho!

I swear that little fruit loop is something else. Can Little walk yet? Nope. But she has decided she can climb and so it was. She will nto stop climbing up the couch. And then once up, racing back and forth across it in a mad dash of a crawl. And then we'll hang over the arms looking down.

Fear? Not in this kids head.

Ramblings

My arthritis is kicking my ass again. Kind of out of nowhere really. I got this weird thing in my hands, not quite a rash but maybe it was, but it was underneath the skin. Within a day of that happening I got slammed with the arthritis. My shoulders are really going south quick and see surgery in the near future. Also have some weird numbness going up and down my right arm too. It's bizzare. But between the numbness and my shoulders, I'm walking around looking like Verbal (point for reference).

It's not all bad. Little is getting bigger and smarter by the day. She'll grab her bottle and hand it to you when she is hungry. Or to play. But usually to get fed. She has stood on her own a few times now unbeknownst to her. Not long before she'll be walking I think.

This past weekend I got to slow dance with Munchkin. Had iTunes going and Nights in White Satin came on and she wanted to dance. Wound up having her feet atop mine and we twirled around the living room. Definitely a highlight for me.
