So..yeah

It has been hot as fuck here lately. It has been triple digits for weeks straight, and I think yesterday was the first time it was under 110 in a week. You know it has been hot when the high is going to be 102 and you are all, whew, a cold streak.

We have been fortunate with no blackouts. Other areas of the city have been hit, including my parents, but not us. Really surprising as we almost always get tagged. Maybe we are getting some good payback now.

We were driving last week to pick up the girls from daycare when we hit a stretch of road with the stop lights out, so it was slow going. It took about 25 minutes to go a half mile. People are idiots around here and do not know how to deal with intersections and no lights. But the most awesomely stupid thing I saw was two dumb ass chicks standing on the corner, repeatedly pressing the crosswalk button, waiting for a green walk signal. They cannot see that the lights are out and that traffic is not moving steadily but each side is taking turns (sort of). I wonder how long they stood there waiting, baking what few feeble brain cells they had left.

In other news, I had my MRI done and let me tell you, Xanax kicks ass!! I was in the machine from an hour and a half but it felt like 20-25 mins. Right on. However, on the downside, the results were, well, hardly surprising. My right knee and both shoulders are becoming ravaged with the arthritis. Yay me.

So what is going to happen is we are going to clean out my knee arthroscopicly and see if that does anything to slow down the pain and swelling. If it works, great, if not, not out anything really, and then I get to move on to total knee replacement.

He tried stabbing me in the shoulder with a needle full of steroids to see if that would help or if I will need surgery on them as well. I asked if it was going to hurt and he said not much. After I yelped and winced, I told him he lied. He laughed and said yeah. This is why I love this Dr. So it helped for a day or two but the pain is back so surgery will probably happen there as well. Dunno if they will get scoped or total replacements there as well. I'm going to change my nick to Cyborg before long.

So there it all is, such as it were.

God I think of so much stuff to post and talk about but never seem to have time, or when i have time, not inclined.

I'd like to point out how well I did last week regarding Rockstar. I picked 2 out of 3 for the bottom three and indirectly got the third with my comments. I also got the encore correct, so neener!

This weeks predictions.

No one really truly wowed me this week. Everyone is just kinda doing the same thing it seems. Anyhoo...my prediction for the bottom three..Josh, Phil, Zayra..maybe Patrice will slip in. If Zayra does fall in there, she will get tossed, unless she amazes with her song, then Josh is toast.

Encore this week will go to...Dana of all people. Girlie is coming along.

Her stock is rising with me and Patrice and Zayra have lowered. And does anyone else think that Lukas looks like a marmoset?

Reality Round-Up

Okay, let's start with Hells Kitchen. I can't express fully enough, how badly I want to stab Sara in the head. I undestand the Maribelle has no leadership but Sara should have been the one to go. Now she gets the opportunity to fuck others over again when they join into one team. I have been rooting for Garret and Heather but Garret seems to be losing it a bit, while Keith is getting better and seeming less the dork he was ta the beginning.

Now Rockstar. Tommy Lee is still a douchebag. A 12 year old on at that but that is hardly a newsflash now is it? Some good performences again but for me anyways, a lot of meh ones. My prediction for bottom three is; Dana, Jenny, and Ryan. My prediction for encore is tough. Might be Dilana because everyone seems to have a hard on for her, but she has had an encore already, and don't know if they will double up or not. I guess my prediction will be Magni.

Josh has a great voice but it totally unsuited for this group I think. He is far too mellow, and I think Dana is to..nice, I guess. I didn't care for Patrice this week, hopefully she will turn it around but do still like Toby and Zayra (sorry Pischy :P ).

Must Kill Sara Connor

Wow, what a deep, introspective post that last one was. Then again, I was not low on some serious dosage vicodin. I used to think I got the good stuff but I was wrong. A half tab of what I have now is just about as strong as a whole one of my last.

This of course leads me to where I am going in today's post. I saw my orthopedic surgeon the week before last, because dammit, everything is hurting, right? So after enough Xrays to make me glow, or at least be infertile, the synopsis is like this.

Hips are still in great shape. They better be, since they aren't mine. Both knees shot, both shoulders shot. Booooo Arthritis, hooray Beer!!! He wants more detail though before he decides what to do. Soooooo. I get to have an MRI this Thursday, or as I like to call it, let's see if Murphy is claustrophobic. 2hours plus in that bad boy. But they are hooking a brother up with some Xanax first I guess to mellow my ass out. Never had that, so here's hoping.

Afterwards he decides what to do. 1, is do nothing, I keep on the way I have been. 2, is he goes in a cleans out the joint. And my fave (not) 3, as far as my right knee goes, total knee replacement. Yay!

Before it is all over and done, I'ma be a fucking cyborg.

Disney Flicks

Munchkin is watching Jungle Book right now. I still love that movie, one of my favorite Disney movies, even still. Baloo rocks,and the Vultures at the end...awesome, and I love the songs.

Ya Ever...

...get one of those boogers that is just bothering you for whatever reason, and so you go to remove it and it turns out to be a foot long and attached to the back of your skull? And on the way out just tickles like you were pulling a feather out your shnoz?

Yeah. Yeah, me neither.

RockStar

There are some pretty talented singers in there I think. There are also some that need to get dumped out pretty quick. But the thing that seems to be bugging me the most is the band, SuperNova, that they are trying to get into. They just seem to offer up meaningless comments, and quite often, contradicting ones.

My main two bitches about this are thusly. First off, Gilby bitching to Zayra about her performance, and doesn't she have a clue about what they are looking for? Has she heard any of their music?

First off, no, none of them have a fucking clue what you guys are looking for. You aren't even a band yet, so don't even have a sound yet. Talk about coming in at a disadvantage. Then you expect them to figure out what you are going to sound like by knowing what your previous bands sound like? While in the same genre, they had 3 different styles/sounds. So no telling. All you guys said at into was it was going to...rock and roll!! Woooo.

My next major beef is all the grunting over bring the rock last week, where is the rock. And Matt who had a far superior voice than those other two gets the axe because he didn't bring it. And then this week, they are falling all over themselves to get up on Dilana for a fucking acoustic rendition!!! I'm not arguing whether it was good or not, it was I thought, but c'mon, be fucking consistent.

That off my chest, my bottom three are Jill, Phil and Chris. Chris has no range whatsoever and has no business being there. Phil has the stage presence of a head of cabbage, and Jill just tanked. Still liking Toby and Patrice overall so far, and enjoyed several more performances this week.
